WHY HAYWOOD PRINTING
About Us
Haywood Printing (since 1946) is a 3rd generation family owned business. Commercial printing began with linotype and handtypesetting methods, operating on 2 Kluge letterpresses. Carbon copy invoices, business cards, saddle stitch booklets were the most common jobs. by the 1990s the business began diversifying into offset color printing, coil bound books, and dark room photo development. By the 2000s the business went fully digital, adding autonomy and modern graphic design capabilities to our services. Today, Haywood Printing offers high volume autonomy for digital full color books, flyers, business cards, banners, signs, and beyond!

Our Mission
Haywood Printing Technologies aims to serve its local community
Quality products are at our core, and our brand is everywhere throughout Bloomfield and Greene County. From all high school publications, signs, and banners - to local restaurants and businesses. Haywood Printing promises to continue this tradition, and will continue to advance the community in terms of content and graphic design.
Connecting the community to the WestGate Technology park.
According to the WestGate master plan
(as seen in this link), there is significant growth planned to enhance our corner of the Indiana Uplands. It is vital for the entire community of Bloomfield to make its voice heard as part of this growth. WestGate will provide amenities never once dreamed of in this area including STEM education and business opportunities. WestGate Academy has also partnered with Purdue to serve the entire upland community (see the WestGate Academy). Haywood Printing Technologies vows to help connect the community to this amazing opportunity as our primary mission. NSWC Crane wants a local footprint of STEM employees - This is an immense opportunity for Bloomfield and Greene County as a whole. This can benefit us in terms of commerce, amenities, and overall quality of life.

Our Vision
At its origins, “the press” revolutionized communication and led to globalization in the renaissance and early industrial age.
This mass production of publications was extended through the industrial revolution with linotype. Establishing one of the first binary systems, which later inspired electronic logic gates, the basis of all computers today.
Today, in the age of information, all original definitions of “the press” are different. What it used to be is now obsolete. Today, printing businesses are more of an art form and tradition. Culture does NOT move as fast as technology. While the technology exists today, it will still take generations to phase out what “the press” was.
Printing continues to be important in society:
● In conditions where physical content makes a marketable or meaningful difference: Putting the brand on a palpable object.
● In conditions where there is no other means
○ Blackout conditions with no electronics, whether by accident or intentional
○ To remove cybersecurity issues as a whole
○ Military and defense communications.
● Legal publications and awards
● Graphic design skills and standards that follow in more than just paper publications.
● Exterior visuals such as signs and banners
● 3D printing
● Printed Circuit Board plotting
● Any physical object that requires a form of graphic, text, or design - emphasis on in-mold plastic labeling and films.
Haywood Printing Technologies aims to evolve it's focus in the now third generation of family ownership to best capture this unprecedented change in what defines “the press”.
